Like most exhaust gaskets, this gasket will see more heat than most gaskets in the engine, and over time and mileage, they can become brittle which will cause an exhaust leak. And because removing the factory up-pipe can be mechanically challenging and labor-intensive, it is always wise to replace the gasket any time the up-pipe has to be removed for maintenance.
