This is the Radium Engineering Dual Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit. Catch can kits are essential to Subaru platforms to protect the engine from elevated levels of crankcase blow-by accumulated from aggressive driving. Excessive oil-saturated air circulating back into the air intake stream can lead to degraded performance. The Radium Engineering catch can kit features large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, a 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick.

SPECS:

  • Includes (2) independent catch cans that are plumbed into different parts of the PCV system
  • The cans do NOT vet to the atmosphere and instead maintain the factory plumbing strategy
  • This is a closed-loop system that routes clean filtered air back in through the engine promoting negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance
  • Closed-loop systems also prevent unwanted oil vapors from being directed into the cabin
  • An aluminum heat shield is provided to prevent radiant exhaust temperatures from disturbing the oil condensation process
  • Effectively raises the octane and increased engine performance from cleaner inlet air
  • Prevents oil buildup in the intake and intercooler system walls, throttle body, and intake manifold
  • Excessive oil collection can be an indicator of a damaged engine
  • Lowers hydrocarbon emissions

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • This kit is perfect for stock or modified street cars as a preventable measure to keep oil and sludge out of the intake track, intercooler, and intake manifold
  • The direct-injected Subaru FA20F engine in particular has an inherent problem since there are no port injectors to clean he backside of the intake valves
  • The forward catch can intercepts the CCV line and the rear catch can intercepts the PCV line
  • The system is completely sealed and retains the factory function of the PCV valve
  • The catch cans are sealed and will withstand pressure in boosted applications
  • The kit attaches to the factory mounting provisions on the RH side of the engine bay, and required no permanent modification to the vehicle

NOTES:

  • Compatible with the 18-18 Forester XT and 15-21 WRX
  • It is not compatible with the 2018+ Sport Lineartronic (CVT) transmission, or STI models
  • Has not been tested on RHD models
  • May not be compatible with some RHD models
